One night in Shinjuku is a bit short, but we have to check out to join our Land tour for Mount Fuji / Hakone. We took our breakfast at 371 Bar, operated by Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Hotel. Day time it serve breakfast to guest while night time it became a place for drinking sessions. Buffet selection of western fusion with Japanese style breakfast.
After breakfast, we lug our luggage towards Shinjuku East exit. We gave up half way and board a cab.Due to the heavy load and concern on the children’s safety. This is the only once we took taxi thruout the entire trip. My feedback, polite, committed but doesn’t over promise. It’s a 10min journey, due to many traffic lights in Shinjuku and the different in direction. Cost ¥810. Had to spend this instead of missing the bus. We reached on time.
This bus we board will go around some of the Hotels to pick up other Guests who booked the tour. We reached Hamamatsucho Terminal. Here our tour operator Sun Rise tour will do administration and distribute a package (invoices, maps, vouchers, guides, train tickets etc) to their respective guest. And direct them to the correct tour bus.
Authum in Japan is windy and cloudy. Our first attraction is Kawaguchi Lake. This is one of the Fuji Five Lakes. We took a cruise around, very windy, cooling and nice view.
Next we will be going to Tenjosan Park by Mount Kachi Kachi Ropeway. Up there at 1,075m, we can see Mount Fuji and the entire panoramic view of Lake Kawaguchi. Waiting time is about 30mins as there were also other tour groups ahead of us. Below is the introduction video, but scenery is in Winter. :p
Upon reaching the top by the ropeway, we bought some Green tea and Charcoal-Fired “Tanuki Dango” for tea break at Tanuki Teahouse. Very sweet and chewy snack and the green tea gave us the warm on a windy mountain. This is the place with very good view and fresh air. A pity the Mount Fuji is covered by foggy clouds. We left at about 12:45pm taking the Ropeway car downhill to gather back at the lake for Lunch.
